EIRENE is an open-source platform for computational homology. It is part of a long term effort to introduce algebraic topology, the mathematics of abstract space, to modern problems in engineering and applied science. Explicit representation and 3D visualization of homological generators, as in the case of a persistent 1-cycle embedded in the Eurasian continent below, is an overarching theme of this project. Eirene is currently in beta, with limited scope and functionality.  The next phase of Eirene is ExHACT, an initiative for computational analysis of homology and homological generators, currently supported by funding from the National Science Foundation.
